Our magnetic knife holder is made out of solid oak and features a beautiful walnut inlay. The elegant design would look great in both modern and retro kitchens alike. A strip of strong rare-earth magnets (neodymium magnets) embedded in the wood allows you to place knives throughout its length.

The knife holder measures 12-inches in length, which allows it to fit on the side of most upper cabinets; though it would look just as good on your wall. We finish our magnetic knife block with our own bee's wax blend, which protects the wood naturally and allows for easy cleaning. Mounting screws and wall anchors are included. A message about holding strength: With our magnetic knife holder, we try and balance the strength requirement of the magnets to hold a knife and the effort needed to easily remove a knife from the magnetic holder. With this in mind, we have chosen to use a magnet that we believe meets these requirements. There are a number of variables that determine the grip strength of the holder: like knife metal type, metal thickness, blade width, etc. The knife used in the pictures above (not included) is 2-inch wide and weighs 7.8 ounces; if you plan to use a similar sized knife that weighs more, you would have to store the knife with the handle on top, so that the weight of the knife can be transferred from the knife handle to the wood.
