The essay that won a 6 year old girl 4 tickets, and a trip to a sold out Hannah Montana concert in Albany, New York was fake.

The first line read: “My daddy died this year in Iraq.” Her mother told contest officials that the girls father died April 17 in a roadside bombing in Iraq.

“We did the essay and that’s what we did to win,” Priscilla Ceballos, the mother, said in an interview with Dallas TV station KDFW. “We did whatever we could do to win.”

How sick is that?

“We regret that the original intent of the contest, which was to make a little girl’s holiday extra special, has not been realized in the way we anticipated,” said Mary Drolet, the CEO of Club Libby Lu.

Drolet said the company is reviewing the matter, and is considering taking away the girl’s tickets

They need to take the tickets away, and sue the mother for all the time and money lost. This is not how we show our respect to the Men and Women that risk their lives to keep us safe, and free.

So after the great Harry Reid “phony soldiers” incident, where 41 US Senators waisted American time, and tax money, and tried to smear Rush Limbaugh. He decided to turn the tables. He has taken the letter with all 41 of the signatures and has put it on eBay for a charity called The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation. He has also made a challenge to each of the 41 Senators to match the amount of the finial eBay auction price. Yesterday at this time, the auction was at just over $50,000. At the time I write this it is at $105,300
I wonder who in the end, the lucky bidder will be.

The sad thing is that Democrats tried to stop eBay from hosting this auction, and went as far as calling the charity fake. They will do anything to hurt someone that is trying to do good, in order to feel good about themselves. How sick is that?

Do the left really support our troops?

They say they do, and I bet most of them do, yet they do nothing to distance themselves from the far left wackos like moveon.org, and many many others. The Bay Area has banned the JROTC programs from the schools, has tried to ban the Blue Angels from performing in Fleet Week, banned the U.S. Marines from filming a commercial on the anniversary of 9/11.

Now come an incident at Oakland’s Airport.

In short: “On September 27th 204 Marines and soldiers who were returning from Iraq were not allowed into the passenger terminal at Oakland International Airport. Instead they had to deplane about 400 yards away from the terminal where the extra baggage trailers were located. This was the last scheduled stop for fuel and food prior to flying to Hawaii where both were based. The trip started in Kuwait on September 26th with a rigorous search of checked and carry on baggage by US Customs. All baggage was x-rayed with a ‘backscatter’ machine AND each bag was completely emptied and hand searched. After being searched, checked bags were marked and immediately placed in a secure container. Carry on bags were then x rayed again to ensure no contraband items were taken on the plane. While waiting for the bus to the airport, all personnel were in quarantined in a fenced area and were not allowed to leave.” Nevertheless, Oakland forbade them from entering its terminal. According to the Marine, a Lieutenant who served in Afghanistan with the same unit in 2006 noted that Oakland had treated troops the same way before. He “was almost arrested by the TSA for getting belligerent about them not letting the Marines into the terminal,” despite more rigorous screening prior to landing in Oakland. Both JFK airport and in Germany had no problem with the Marines entering their terminals. via - michellemalkin.com

The worst part is the fact that Little from Daily Kos goes out of his way to disprove the whole story, with no evidence to support his claims. If the story is fake, then how did michellemalkin.com get a response about the incident from the Port of Oakland Spokesperson?

Way to show your support.

Show our US Troops how you really feel, send them an email. I will take you but 5 minuets. They should know that you do support them. It will go a long way.

GRIM: Is there anything that you and your Marines need that we could send you?

COL. SIMCOCK: (Chuckles.) I’ll tell you what, the one thing that all Marines want to know about — and that includes me and everyone within Regimental Combat Team 6 — we want to know that the American public are behind us. We believe that the actions that we’re taking over here are very, very important to America. We’re fighting a group of people that, if they could, would take away the freedoms that America enjoys.

If anyone — you know, just sit down, jot us — throw us an e- mail, write us a letter, let us know that the American public are behind us. Because we watch the news just like everyone else. It’s broadcast over here in our chow halls and the weight rooms, and we watch that stuff, and we’re a little bit concerned sometimes that America really doesn’t know what’s going on over here, and we get sometimes concerns that the American public isn’t behind us and doesn’t see the importance of what’s going on. So that’s something I think that all Marines, soldiers and sailors would like to hear from back home, that in fact, yes, they think what we’re doing over here is important and they are in fact behind us. - Blackfive
