Microsoft Multi-touch computer displays.

With an off-the-shelf laptop, he retrofitted some infrared sensors on the back and together with the magic of software, you have multi-touch! – iStartedSomething

I can see some very cool Nintendo Wiimote actions using this new technology. After all the Wiimote uses IR technology too. Plus the fact that I am tired of accidentally pointing my Wiimote at my computer expecting it to do something. Wiimote and touchscreens are the wave of the future. Before you start saying that they stole this from the iPhone, you need to keep in mind that this technology is not new, and Apple didn’t invent it. Check out this video here made before the iPhone

Apple iPhone vs Microsoft Surface: battle of touch screens

If you thought the iPhone touch screen was cool, wait till you see Microsoft Surface. 6 years in development, and a lot of really cool features to show for it. Microsoft Surface is a touch screen “table” that can do most any thing; from interact with cameras, and phones, to pay your restaurant bill. You really need to check out the videos to see what it can do. In 20 years, I expect these or something similar to be in every house. The first thing I thought of when I saw this was the Batman Beyond cartoon. Looks like the things we see in the movies, and cartoons will come true. Microsoft Surface is set to come to market winter 2007. I cant wait.

Google gets Wii friendly

Our good friends at Google Labs are always thinking. They have added Wii support to their Google Reader. The new features include Larger text, and Wiimote functionality. This is also a good time to remind you of my RSS feeds found in the sidebar, or at the bottom of each post.

HDD deaths no longer bother me.

Back in 2002 or so I had a ton of photos from my very first digital camera, everything from pets to different family events. Too bad for me I didn’t have any way to back it up, and I lost it all in a Hard Drive crash. I was really upset, and heart broken. I had lost all photos of our cat that had recently died, and everything else.

It was a Maxtor drive, and it was still under warranty, so I sent it in and they replaced it. Lucky me, I took more photos, and filled up the HDD with more memories, only to lose that drive to another HDD crash. It had died in under a year. I was upset all over again. I tried different recovery programs, but nothing seemed to work. I still have the HDD to this day, in case I find a way to recovery what was on it. Continue reading HDD deaths no longer bother me.
