So I decided to visit DailyKos

The title says it. I just visited DailyKos.com for the first time today to see what it was all about. If you didn’t know, it is a place where far left wing-nuts can host their blogs and whine about how we are in a war that their own Senators voted for, but its somehow all only Bush’s fault.

I found a topic on the front page called No offence, but isn’t it about time for the Catholic Church to put up or shut up. You can read the whole thing if you want, but I will give a brief overview. The writer basically criticizes the Catholic Church for not speaking out against: “the murder of Mother Nature”, “the destruction of America’s middle and lower classes”, “the treasonous lies about 9/11”, and “the theft of America’s retirement and health care programs” to name a few.

Isn’t this the same group of people that tries to shut up Christians every other day; but when they need someone to blame, the Catholic Church is wrong for not speaking up? It is not the job of the church to speak out about anything, it is the job of the people, and the people make up the church.

If I remember correctly the Pope has spoken out a number of time against the war. I guess the writer forgot. Tell me, why would the Catholic Church speak about “the murder of Mother Nature”? Their job is to save lives, not save trees. The destruction of the middle and lower class? All of the stats show that the middle class is richer then its ever been, and still growing. No matter how rich the lower class becomes, it will still be the lower class, it is a fact of life that it will never go away.

This might surprise you, but conservatives are 51% more likely to volunteer for a secular charity then liberals, and give 30% more money to secular charities, yet earn 6% less then liberals(via – Who Really Cares). This is why conservatives don’t want government run social and health programs. Plus the fact that they dont work. If you need help go to church, that is part of the reason they are there.

Kansas House of Representatives Prayer

This was the prayer that was read at the opening of a 1996 Kansas House of Representatives session. Amazing what you find on the Internet 11 years later that you never knew about.

Rev. Joe Wright:

Heavenly Father, we come before you to ask your forgiveness. We seek your direction and your guidance. We know your word says, “Woe to those who call evil good.” But that’s what we’ve done.

We’ve lost our spiritual equilibrium. We have inverted our values. We have ridiculed the absolute truth of your word in the name of moral pluralism. We have worshiped other gods and called it multiculturalism.

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.

We’ve exploited the poor and called it a lottery. We’ve neglected the needy and called it self-preservation. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. In the name of choice, we have killed our unborn. In the name of right to life, we have killed abortionists.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it political savvy. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it taxes. We have
polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, oh, God, and know our hearts today. Try us. Show us any wickedness within us. Cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent here by the people of the State of Kansas, and that they have been ordained by you to govern this great state.

Grant them your wisdom to rule. May their decisions direct us to the center of your will. And, as we continue our prayer and as we come in out of the fog, give us clear minds to accomplish our goals as we begin this Legislature. For we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Who’s to say whats right and whats wrong?

This is a real question. Scientists says that is what separates us from the animals; knowing right from wrong, and knowing of death. If people know the difference, why do they do wrong. Maybe science is wrong.

I don’t think people are born knowing right from wrong. It is something they learn from their parents, and from their religion. Its obvious that some people just want to kill. Terrorist countries teach death to America from birth, and they don’t know anything different. If they knew it was wrong would they still do it? People that murder, people that steal; maybe they don’t know any better.

Who’s to say whats right and whats wrong? People have different opinions about everything else. Maybe some people don’t think killing is wrong, maybe some people don’t think that stealing is wrong, etc. Innocent babies are murdered everyday, and its legal. What are children to think when they see and hear about stuff like that. That is the problem with the world today; they sacrifice doing what is right in the name of freewill.

Think of how much better off the world would be if everyone followed the 10 Commandments. Even if you are not Christian; if everyone followed the rules the world would be beautiful.

    Exodus 20:2-17

  • 2. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; 3. you shall have no other gods before me.
  • 4. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, 6. but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.
  • 7. You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
  • 8. Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy. 9. For six days you shall labour and do all your work. 10. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns. 11. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and consecrated it.
  • 12. Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
  • 13. You shall not murder.
  • 14. You shall not commit adultery.
  • 15. You shall not steal.
  • 16. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  • 17. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Even people that don’t believe in the Bible should grow up learning, and practicing Verses 12-17 They are all basic rules that any honest person should follow. Removing the 10 commandments from schools, and other public places, just because they are religious is not good for our society.
