People have been using black clothing to look thinner forever. I think the caveman were the first group to really popularize it. You would have to ask the Geicko guys to be sure. But how about something a little more up to date.
Science fiction may soon see another of its concepts defect to the realm of science now that engineers at Purdue University have an invisibility device in the works. Still just a concept at this point, the plan would be to surround an object with a specially designed cone with metal needles sticking out of it. The needles would change the refractive properties of the cone in such a way that light would bend around it and make any stuff inside disappear.

These scientist, always thinking of practical uses for this kind of stuff; they always forget about the rich. How about a quick way to lose 10lbs before a special occasion; something I call Selective Invisibility. Or invisibility stripes on your arms, or legs. You have to be creative with this kind of stuff.
Only one problem though, this doesn’t exists yet, and they say it only works in one color wave length. I however have a solution to this. An idea I came up with a long time ago. I am writing this now, so that way I get all the credit when it becomes a reality. I am pretty confident that my idea works. All it takes is a fiber optic suit. Millions of tiny fiber optics that rap around the persons body to the exact opposite side. The light from behind the person would travel through the fiber optics to the front, and the same from the front to the back. Like looking through a window. It would be like you are looking at all the fiber optics like a TV screen; all the fibers are like the TV pixels. Of course this suit wouldn’t be cheap, and it would have to be custom made for each person, but it will work. Of this I am sure. I invented invisibility.
