American Gladiators was on last night and again also tonight. This was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I was very happy to hear that it was coming back. Who says the writers strikes are bad for TV? They have a whole bunch of new Gladiators that are ready and willing to take you down, and a whole bunch of people that are willing to let them. One guy that was on last night had waited 14 years to be on American Gladiators, because he had missed his chance before because of LA traffic. If I remember correctly he lost, but he did get to finish his dream, so at least he has that going for him.

But that’s not what you had to see.

During the commercial break they showed it, I couldn’t believe my eyes, I wasn’t expecting it at all. Yup is was a commercial for the new Knight Rider Backdoor Pilot. A Backdoor Pilot is basically a made for TV movie, that if it does well enough, can be made into a series. Of course with the good also comes the bad. Mr Feeny will not be returning as the voice of KITT Also something interesting KITT this time will be a black 550 HP Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang, not the Trans Am that it has been in the past. I like Mustangs better anyways.

VoIP on your iPod Touch

The boys over at touchmods.net have come up with a way to get VoIP on the iPod Touch using the phones built in wi-fi. Of course the iPod Touch doesn’t even have a mic, but they also have a tutorial on how to make your own; or for the non-tech you can order a premade one.

I always said that if apple came out with a “PDA” I would buy one, and the iPod Touch seems to be it. I however will wait awhile for the price to come down and the technology to get better. 8 gigs for $299 just isn’t enough space for me. I need a lower price tag, or a bigger hard drive. I cant wait to see what the 2nd gen will do.

I have added a cool little bit of code to the sidebar that shows the current song I’m playing in iTunes. Thanks to Brandon Fuller for this. While a song is being played, you can see it in the sidebar, as well as the cover artwork. The artwork is pulled from Amazon.com, and if you click on it, it will take you to the CD on Amazon’s site. You can also click on the iTunes link below it to get the song on iTunes. If no song is being played, then the whole thing disappears, to leave a nice clean look. The script is not completely accurate though; sometimes it pulls the wrong song artwork from amazon. But this is only like 1% of the time, and probably because I have some hard to find stuff. Enjoy

A Hawk tried to eat our doves.

The hawk is next to the dove cage on the wall. I was about 15 feet away from the hawk at this time.

The hawk spent a good 15 minuets trying to get at the doves, while my Dad and I were 25 feet away watching. We started to feel bad for the hawk and thought about letting one of the doves out, but I don’t think my mom would have liked that. So we decided to make a lure. We had some extra beef in the house that we tied to a string, and I got a feather from the bottom of my Cockatiel cage, and stuck in the meat. My dad went out into the yard and swung it around. After a few tries, the hawk went after it, but the cat and dog were near by and scared it away. The hawk then flew to the neighbors back yard on the electric wires. We tried again, this time hanging the lure over the trellis. The hawk went after it again, but again the cat scared it away. Of course I was so excited to see the hawk go after the lure, I didn’t get any pictures. I guess the hawk got tired, because it flew away. We left the beef tied on top of the trellis in case the hawk comes back. It must be really hungry.

I can see some very cool Nintendo Wiimote actions using this new technology. After all the Wiimote uses IR technology too. Plus the fact that I am tired of accidentally pointing my Wiimote at my computer expecting it to do something. Wiimote and touchscreens are the wave of the future. Before you start saying that they stole this from the iPhone, you need to keep in mind that this technology is not new, and Apple didn’t invent it. Check out this video here made before the iPhone
