If you don’t know, solid state hard drives, are drives that use flash based memory. This hopefully will stop the dreaded hard drive failure. HDDs are like helicopters, from the moment they are build they are trying to fall apart. After I myself have had 2 HDDs fail on me, and lost everything. I am more then ready for a change.
Asus just announced their plans to make five budget, solid state laptops this year priced from $199 to $549. Each machine will have a 7-inch display, and depending on the model it’ll have a flash drive ranging from 1GB to 40GB. The lappies are expected later this year – Gizmodo
A 7″ screen isn’t much, but at least we are getting these drives in the market. Right now an 8 gig solid state drive will cost you $305
